Reader’s notes
p. 307. Nine columns: stub plus four two-column blocks (Number / Percent by type). The stub has no printed heading; both heading levels are therefore empty in cell 0. Punctuation dropout: this is a 1-bit scan in which fine marks (periods, some commas) are largely lost. Every decimal point in the percent columns is invisible or near-invisible in the image (the cells read as "100 0", "31 8", "68 2", etc.); I have written them as standard one-decimal percentages ("100.0", "31.8", "68.2"). The same dropout affects the footnotes, where the sentence-final periods and the periods in "i.e." are not visible; I restored them. No digits were altered. Arithmetic checks: the Union-certified and No-union-chosen percents all reproduce Number/Total exactly. Three cells in the last column do not, and are transcribed as printed: "All representation elections" / Outcome-reversed Percent by type = 11.0 (9/85 = 10.6); "RC cases" / Outcome-reversed Percent by type = 12.5 (9/75 = 12.0); "Stipulated elections" / Outcome-reversed Percent by type = 12.5 (7/59 = 11.9). The trailing digit of each of these three is the least certain reading on the page — a faint 5 and a faint 0 are hard to separate at this resolution — so one or more may be a misreading rather than a misprint. The fourth value in that column, "Regional director-directed elections" = 8.3, does check out (2/24). Cells holding only a dash rule (the Percent columns of rows whose Number is 0, and the Outcome percents for RM, RD and Consent) are transcribed as "". "By type of case" and "By type of election" are section lines with no values. "Regional director-directed elections" is printed on two lines ("Regional director-directed" / "elections") and is joined into one label; its values sit on the second printed line.
