Reader’s notes

p. 297. Three printed columns: stub ("Method and stage of disposition"), "Number of cases", "Percent of total closed"; one heading level. Decimal points in the "Percent of total closed" column are not visible in this 1-bit scan — every cell reads as digits separated by a space ("100 0", "41 7", "33 5", "0 4", ...). I have restored the decimal point in each, as with the comma-space convention, because the values are one-decimal percentages; the readings are confirmed arithmetically: 41.7 + 3.5 + 36.5 + 18.3 = 100.0, and each group's parts sum to its heading value (33.5+7.8+0.4=41.7; 32.6+3.5+0.2+0.2=36.5; 13.8+2.4+0.4+1.7=18.3). The "Number of cases" column likewise reconciles as printed: 192+16+168+84 = 460; 154+36+2 = 192; 150+16+1+1 = 168; 63+11+2+8 = 84. No misprints detected. The three indented groups under "Agreement of the parties—informal settlement", "Withdrawal" and "Dismissal" repeat the same stage labels; they are transcribed in printed order and are distinguished only by position, not by label. Row labels that wrap across two printed lines ("After opening of 10(k) hearing, before issuance of Board decision and determination of dispute", broken at "determina- tion") have been joined and the end-of-line hyphen repaired. The dash in "Agreement of the parties—informal settlement" is printed as a long dash and transcribed as an em dash. The footnote line shows no terminal period. A stray ink speck appears below the footnote line at the bottom left of the crop; it is not a character.
