Reader’s notes
p. 275. Decimal points: in this 1-bit scan the decimal point drops out of several percent cells, which print as a bare gap (e.g. "10 1", "5 4", "3 5", "1 9", "12 9", "45 6", "10 8"). Every value in every Percent column carries exactly one decimal place, so these are restored as decimal points, by the same convention used for a space after a digit-grouping comma. Affected cells: All representation elections (Total objections Percent, Total challenges Percent); In RC cases (Challenges only Percent, Objections and challenges Percent, Total challenges Percent); In RM cases (Objections and challenges Percent); In RD cases (Total challenges Percent); Regional director-directed elections (Objections only Percent, Objections and challenges Percent); Board-directed elections (Objections and challenges Percent, Total objections Percent, Total challenges Percent). Apparent misprint in the source, transcribed as printed: under "By type of case" the Total elections column sums to 8,401 (7,311 + 270 + 820), not the 8,464 printed on the "All representation elections" line — a shortfall of 63. All ten other columns of that panel sum correctly (626+19+52 = 697; 263+14+25 = 302; 141+5+13 = 159; 767+24+65 = 856; 404+19+38 = 461), and the "By type of election" panel sums correctly in every column including Total elections (646+6,314+19+1,439+46 = 8,464). The reading of 7,311 is corroborated by its own percents, which the table computes by truncation rather than rounding (confirmed by 13/820 = 1.585 -> 1.5 and 24/270 = 8.888 -> 8.8): 626/7,311 = 8.56 -> 8.5 and 767/7,311 = 10.49 -> 10.4 match the printed 8.5 and 10.4, whereas the value 7,374 that would make the column add up yields 8.4 and 10.4. So the discrepancy is in the source, not in the transcription. The stub column has no printed heading; both heading levels carry an empty stub cell.
