p. 324. DOUBTFUL CELL — row "On petitions for review and/or enforcement", column "Vs. employers only" (Number of proceedings): the glyphs read as 255 on this scan and are transcribed as printed, but every arithmetic check implies 215. Its five detail rows sum to 146+28+3+2+36 = 215; the parent row "Proceedings decided by U.S. courts of appeals" prints 240 in that column, and 240 - 25 ("On petitions for contempt") = 215; and the printed percentages in the "Vs employers only" column are all computed on a base of 215 (146/215 = 67.9, 28/215 = 13.0, 3/215 = 1.4, 2/215 = 0.9, 36/215 = 16.7; a base of 255 would give 57.3, 11.0, 1.2, 0.8, 14.1). So this is either a misprint in the source or a 1-vs-5 ambiguity in this 1-bit scan; a downstream user should treat the intended value as 215. All other columns of that row reconcile exactly (260 = 177+31+10+2+40; 37; 4; 4). DECIMAL POINTS — the scan drops most decimal points in the percentage columns, which print as e.g. "100 0", "67 9", "63 3", "0 5". These are restored as 100.0, 67.9, 63.3, 0.5, etc., matching the cells where the point did survive (1.5, 15.6, 7.4, 0.5). Likewise the faded periods in "U S" are restored to "U.S." in the two "Proceedings decided by ..." row labels and in footnote 3 ("430 U.S. 290"). Printed-as-is inconsistency, not corrected: in the Supreme Court section both "Board order affirmed with modification" and "Remanded to court of appeals" show 16 in the cumulative Number column, but the Percent column prints 7.3 for the first and 7.4 for the second (16/217 = 7.37). The cumulative percent column still sums to 100.0 as printed. Row-label wording kept as printed, including the singular "Board order affirmed with modification" in the Supreme Court section versus the plural "Board orders affirmed with modification" in the courts-of-appeals section. The stub column carries no printed heading, so cell 0 of each heading level is empty. Dash rules ("------") in the percentage and cumulative columns are rendered as empty cells.
