1 "Proceedings" are comparable to "cases" reported in annual reports prior to fiscal year 1964. This term more accurately describes the data inasmuch as a single "proceeding" often includes more than one "case." See Glossary for definitions of terms.
2 A proceeding in which the Board had entered an order dismissing the complaint and the charging party appealed such dismissal in the courts of appeals.

p. 276. Twelve columns: stub, five \"Number of proceedings\" columns, four \"Percentages\" columns, and Number/Percent under the cumulative heading. This scan drops most small periods: decimal points in the percentage columns print as gaps (e.g. \"100 0\", \"63 1\", \"15 6\", \"22 2\", \"59 5\") and abbreviation periods are mostly invisible (\"U S\", \"Sept 30\", \"Vs\"). Because the column arithmetic confirms the decimals (24/45 = 53.3, 3,951/6,263 = 63.1, 128/215 = 59.5, etc.), I have written the decimal points, and likewise restored \"U.S.\", \"Sept.\" and \"Vs.\" in labels and headings. Headings are printed inconsistently as \"Vs.\" and \"Vs\" across the two panels (probably the same dropped-period artifact); I normalized to \"Vs.\". Cumulative Percent for \"Board orders partially affirmed and partially remanded\" is printed 1.6, though 97/6,263 = 1.55 would round to 1.5; it appears to be a rounding adjustment so the column sums to 100.0. Transcribed as printed. A faint stray mark (a short dash/tilde) sits in the stub just left of \"Board orders affirmed in full\" in the courts-of-appeals section; it is a scan artifact, not a footnote marker, so it is not transcribed. All-dash cells (\"------\") in the percentage and cumulative columns are transcribed as empty.
