Seven printed columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken", then the five columns under the spanner "Formal actions taken by type of case" (Total formal actions taken, RC, RM, RD, UD). The caption carries a raised 1 pointing to the single footnote; per instructions the caption is omitted. Arithmetic: in nine rows the RC+RM+RD+UD cells do not add to the printed "Total formal actions taken": Hearings completed, total (246+10+20+2=278 vs 276); Initial hearings (169+8+17+2=196 vs 194); Decisions issued, total (501+21+48+4=574 vs 570); By regional directors (477+20+46+4=547 vs 543); Elections directed, under By regional directors (428+17+42+3=490 vs 487); Dismissals on record, under By regional directors (49+3+4+1=57 vs 56); Requests for review received (144+2+6+1=153 vs 152); Board action on request ruled upon, total (134+2+6+1=143 vs 142); Denied (116+1+5+1=123 vs 122). All other rows add exactly. I read the page twice and the digits above are what is printed; they are transcribed as printed and not reconciled. The discrepancy is confined to the Total and RC columns, so if the scan is at fault the suspect cells are those two columns in the nine rows listed. Row labels: "Board decison after review, total" is printed with "decison" (apparent misprint for "decision") and is transcribed as printed. "Review of regional directors' decisions", "Regional directors' decision" and "Outcome" are stub-only section lines with no values. The last row, "Dismissals on record", sits below a double rule but belongs to the "Outcome" group that begins with "Election directed". "Transferred by regional directors for initial decision" and "Withdrawn after request granted, before Board review" each wrap onto two printed lines and are joined into one row. Scan quality: the type is a worn 1-bit scan in which many "i" characters render faintly (e.g. "Hearings", "Decisions", "initial"); these are ordinary words and were read with confidence. No part of the table appears cut off by the crop.

Two rows carry a label only and no figures: "Review of Regional directors' supplemental decisions" and "Regional directors' decisions"; their value cells are empty in the print. Capitalisation of "Regional" in those labels is as printed. The scan carries several stray ink specks that are not characters and were not transcribed: a comma-like mark in the RD column of "Request for review received" and of "Withdrawn after request granted, before Board review" (both read 0), and a mark in the RM column area beneath "Board decision after review, total". There is also a small stray tick in the left margin beside the "No exceptions to regional directors' reports" row. Internal arithmetic is consistent where checkable (e.g. 181+17=198; 3+16=19, 3+14=17, 3+13=16), so no misprints are suspected. Note, however, that "Request for review received" (24/21/21) exceeds "Board action on request ruled upon, total" (19/17/16); that is as printed. The footnote marker 1 appears on the caption line ("...Transition Quarter (July-September 1976) 1—Contd."), which is excluded per instructions; the footnote text itself is transcribed. The printed footnote line ends without a period.
