The crop cuts the table off after the Maryland row; the South Atlantic division and all remaining divisions, the U.S. total row, and the text of footnote 1 (marker printed on the stub heading "Division and State") continue beyond this image and are not shown. The table has 17 printed columns: stub, "Total elections", a five-column "Number of elections in which representation rights were won by unions" block, three single tall columns, a five-column "Valid votes cast for unions" block, "Total votes for no union", and "Eligible employees in units choosing representation". In the Nebraska row, the "Other national unions" cell (elections-won block) shows a small stray speck immediately before the digit, reading like "'0"; the printed value is 0 and it is transcribed as 0 — the division subtotal (1,001 for West North Central) confirms a 0 there. As an arithmetic check, every division subtotal row (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central) sums exactly from its member state rows in all 16 numeric columns, and each state's union-detail columns sum to its "Total"; no misprints were detected in the portion shown.

p. 257. Continuation page: no column headings are printed on this crop, so header_rows is empty. The crop also begins mid-group — the South Atlantic division's first entries (Delaware, Maryland and the earlier divisions) fall above the top edge, which is why the printed "South Atlantic" subtotal (727 in column 1) exceeds the sum of the seven South Atlantic rows visible here (599). All other subtotals reconcile exactly with the rows shown: East South Central, West South Central, Mountain, Pacific and Outlying Areas each sum correctly in all 16 columns, which confirms the column alignment. Doubtful cells: Arkansas, last (16th) column — the tens digit is smudged and could read 3 or 8; I transcribed 1,887, the reading under which the West South Central subtotal 14,513 reconciles (1,837 would give 14,463). Oklahoma, last column, read as 1,831 with the same 3/8 ambiguity but no independent check beyond that subtotal. West South Central, 13th column: the final digit of 1,232 is broken in the scan; the value is confirmed by the component rows (62+93+146+931). Montana, 11th column, reads 230 with a damaged final zero; confirmed by the Mountain subtotal 4,134. Mississippi has a short stray dash rule in the second column's gutter, left of the value 24; it is scan damage, not data. The footnote's "U.S." prints with a faint first period.
