Reader’s notes
p. 243. Suspected misprint: in the row "All representation elections", the cell under "Objections and challenges / Number" is printed as 100, but the detail rows sum to 200 (180+10+10 by type of case; 2+127+0+52+19 by type of election), and the row's own other cells are consistent with 200 (717+200=917 total objections; 311+200=511 total challenges; 200/8,899=2.2 percent, the printed percent). It is transcribed as printed (100); the leading digit could also be a damaged 2 in the scan. Every other row and column cross-foots exactly: total elections 7,982+300+617=8,899 and 903+6,228+29+1,614+125=8,899. Decimal points in the percent columns are frequently faint or dropped in the scan, printing as a gap (e.g. "2 2", "10 3", "8 4", "3 0", "5 2", "0 2", "9 8", "17 2", "11 8", "0 8", "15 2", "34 4", "2 0"). These are transcribed with the decimal point restored; each restored value is confirmed by recomputing number/total elections. The cell for "Regional director-directed elections" under "Total objections / Percent" is printed with a stray speck resembling a colon ("15: 1") and is transcribed as 15.1 (243/1,614=15.1). In the "Expedited elections" row, the percent cells under "Challenges only", "Objections and challenges" and "Total challenges" hold dash rules and are transcribed as empty; the corresponding number cells hold a printed 0. The two section lines "By type of case," and "By type of election," carry labels only; their numeric cells are blank, and the figures printed to their right on the following typeset line belong to "In RC cases" and "Consent elections" respectively (vertical alignment and the column sums both confirm this). Scan speckle makes some row labels look corrupted ("Consent election3", "Stipulated elecrtions", "Board-directed e!ections"); they are transcribed with their correct printed wording.
