p. 244. 15 columns: stub, 5 under "Number of polls", 5 under "Employees involved (number eligible to vote)", then a full-height "Total" column (total valid votes cast), then 3 under "Valid votes cast". The "Total" column of valid votes cast (6,035) is printed as a heading box that runs the full height of the header, between the "Employees involved" and "Valid votes cast" spanners, so it is repeated at every header level rather than placed under "Valid votes cast"; its contents are nonetheless the total valid votes cast. Scan quality: the type renders some 3s with closed bowls that look like 8s. Two cells read this way: "AFL-CIO unions" / Number of polls, Resulting in continued authorization, Number = 30 (printed glyph could be read 80; 42+30=72 and the column adds to the printed 49), and "Teamsters" / Employees in polls, Resulting in continued authorization, Number = 173 (could be read 178; 227+173=400 and the column adds to the printed 4,389). Both are transcribed as 30 and 173. Possible misprint: "Teamsters" / Percent of total eligible = 91.0, but the printed valid-votes Total of 362 over 400 eligible is 90.5. The 362 is almost certainly as printed, since 4,484+362+1,042+147 = 6,035, the printed total. Transcribed as printed, uncorrected. Minor: "Other local unions" percent of total 98.1 (319/325 = 98.15) is printed so the row's two percents sum to 100.0; transcribed as printed.
