Reader’s notes
p. 241. Nine columns: stub plus four Number/Percent-by-type pairs (Total, By employer, By union, By both parties). The stub has no printed heading. Decimal points: in this 1-bit scan the period in most percentage cells has dropped out, so many read as e.g. "100 0", "38 8", "2 3" while others ("100.0", "14.3", "12.0", "57.2", "61.0") still show the dot. Every such cell is a one-decimal percentage and the spacing is identical where the dot survives, so I have written the decimal point throughout; no digits were changed. "Expedited elections": the By employer Percent and By both parties Percent cells hold a dash rule only, transcribed as "". Possible printing/rounding oddity, transcribed as printed: in "Regional director-directed elections", By both parties Percent is 3.1 while 9/296 = 3.0 (the printed 41.2 + 55.7 + 3.1 sums to 100.0). All other column sums and percentages check out: the three case-type rows and the five election-type rows each sum to the 1,230 / 477 / 725 / 28 totals. "Regional director-directed elections" is one row whose label wraps as "Regional director-directed elec- tions"; the end-of-line hyphen was repaired.
