p. 243. The crop ends at the double rule under the "South Atlantic" subtotal, so the table continues on the following page (the remaining divisions and the U.S. total are not on this image). The stub heading carries a raised "1", but the footnote text itself is not printed within the crop, so `footnotes` is empty. Column count is 17: stub; "Total elections"; five columns under "Number of elections in which representation rights were won by unions"; "Number of elections in which no representative was chosen"; "Number of employees eligible to vote"; "Total valid votes cast"; five columns under "Valid votes cast for unions"; "Total votes for no union"; "Eligible employee in units choosing representation". The last heading is transcribed as printed, "Eligible employee in units choosing representation" (singular "employee"); it is almost certainly a typesetting error for "employees", but I have not corrected it. In the Maine row, "Other local unions" (valid votes) column, a short horizontal mark is printed immediately left of the value 28 — it appears to be a stray rule/ink artifact rather than a minus sign or digit; the cell is transcribed as 28, which is confirmed by the row's own arithmetic (555+107+83+28 = 773). Every division subtotal row (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central, South Atlantic) was checked against the sum of its member states in all 16 numeric columns and all agree exactly; the component columns also sum to their "Total" columns and valid votes for unions plus votes for no union equals total valid votes cast throughout. No internal inconsistencies or suspected misprints were found in the body.

p. 244. This crop is a continuation page: no column headings are printed on it, so header_rows is empty. The grid has 17 columns (stub + 16 numeric columns), counted from the vertical column rules. Arithmetic checks: every regional subtotal row (East South Central, West South Central, Mountain, Pacific, Outlying areas) was verified against the sum of its member states in all 16 numeric columns, and all agree exactly as transcribed. Column 2 also equals the sum of columns 3-6 in every state row, which further pins the column assignment. The grand total row ("Total, all States and areas") could not be checked because the earlier regions are on the preceding page. Doubtful typography (values themselves are confident): - Utah, column 15: the digit-grouping comma in "1,136" is printed high and reads like an apostrophe in the scan; transcribed as 1,136. - The scan has lost many small dots (e.g. the dots over the i's in "Mississippi" and "Wyoming" are faint or missing). On that basis the periods in "U.S." in the footnote are taken as present though barely resolved; no terminal period after "Commerce" is visible. - Several printed values are 0 rather than blank or a dash; these are transcribed as 0 as printed.
