Reader’s notes

p. 16. The crop is a full report page, not a conventional statistical table: it shows two paragraphs of body text, the caption line "Chart No. 2", and a bar chart titled "ULP CASE INTAKE (Charges and Situations Filed)". The only tabular matter is the two-line data strip printed below the chart's year axis, which is what is transcribed here; the chart title, the "Chart No. 2" caption, the body text, the running head ("Operations in Fiscal Year 1974") and the page number (3) are omitted. The header row is the chart's x-axis labels, with the stub label "Fiscal Year" printed on two lines at the left of that axis ("Fiscal" / "Year"); the y-axis scale labels (0 to 30,000) are part of the chart and are not transcribed. The 1967 CHARGES cell is printed as "17 040" with a space and no clearly visible comma (the other cells all carry commas); transcribed as "17,040". The last digits of the 1974 column are faint in this scan: CHARGES reads "27,726" and SITUATIONS reads "26,228" but the final digit of each could be a 6/8 confusion. The 1972 CHARGES value "26,852" and 1973 "26,487" have a partly broken leading "26" in the scan; the implied decline from 1972 to 1973 matches the relative bar heights in the chart, and likewise for SITUATIONS (25,143 then 24,854).
