Reader’s notes
p. 265. 12 columns; the stub column has no printed heading, so cell 0 of both heading levels is empty. "Total proceedings", "Total dispositions" and "Pending in district court June 30, 1973" are tall single headings spanning both levels and are repeated in each. Row-label readings: the third total row is printed as "Under sec. 10(1), total" — in this typeface the lowercase l of the statutory section 10(l) and the digit 1 are indistinguishable; I transcribed it as 10(l) to match the caption ("Section 10(e), 10(j), and 10(l)"). The second total row appears to lack the period after "sec" ("Under sec 10(j), total"), transcribed as printed without it. In the body labels the printed spaces between parenthesised groups (e.g. "8 (a) (1) (2) (3)") were closed up, as with digit-group spacing. The Total-proceedings cell of row "8(b)(1)(2)" is printed "2." with a stray trailing dot (ink speck or leader remnant); transcribed as 2, which is consistent with the 10(j) column total of 10. The leading raised 1 before the 2 in the Total-proceedings cell of "Under sec. 10(e), total" is a footnote marker, recorded as 2^1. All column sums were checked against the three total rows and every one agrees, including the 10(l) totals (253, 11, 242, 230, 78, 5, 99, 23, 11, 14, 23) and the 10(j) totals; no printed total appears to be in error.
