p. 221. Seven columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken", and five columns under the spanner "Formal actions taken by type of case" (Total formal actions taken, RC, RM, RD, UD). The footnote marker 1 on the caption is not transcribed because the caption is excluded. Two cells are doubtful; both are transcribed exactly as the glyphs appear, and in both the internal arithmetic of the table points the other way: - Row "By Board" (the first one, under "Decisions issued, total"), column RD: printed glyph reads 8. Its two component rows give 3 + 0 = 3, and 145 (By regional directors) + 3 = 148 (Decisions issued, total, RD), so the value implied by the table is 3. The digit may be a 3 thickened by the scan, or a misprint. - Row "Elections directed" under "After transfer by regional directors for initial decision", column RC: printed glyph reads 40. With "Dismissals on record" 29 this sums to 69, but the parent row prints 79, so the implied value is 50. Either the 4 is a scanned 5 or one of the two figures is a misprint. All other row and column sums in the table cross-foot correctly as transcribed. Row labels that wrap over two or three printed lines were joined into one line ("Hearings on objections and/or challenges"; "After transfer by regional directors for initial decision"; "After review of regional directors' decisions"; "No exceptions to regional directors' reports"; "Exceptions to regional directors' reports"; "In directed elections (after transfer by regional directors)"; "In directed elections after review of regional directors' supplemental decisions"). Leader dots were dropped. The indentation that marks the hierarchy is not preserved in the stub text. In the scan several label words show broken serifs ("Dismissals", "Elections" under the "After review" block); the readings given are the intended words.
