p. 283. Twelve columns; the stub has no printed heading. "Total proceedings", "Total dispositions" and "Pending in district court June 30, 1972" are tall single headings spanning both heading levels, so they are repeated in both rows. Row 1 of the body, "Under sec. 10(e), total": the Total proceedings cell is printed as a raised 1 followed by 6, transcribed as 6^1 (the raised 1 keys footnote 1, "In courts of appeals"). Row label wording: the second section line is printed "Under sec 10(j), total" — there is no period after "sec" (unlike "Under sec. 10(e)" and "Under sec. 10(l)"), and a wider-than-normal gap precedes "10(j)". Transcribed as printed. Section citations in the stub are set with a thin space between parenthesized subdivisions (e.g. "8(a) (1) (2)"); these have been closed up to "8(a)(1)(2)". The punctuation joining two citations is retained as printed: a comma in "8(b)(4)(B), 8(e)", "8(b)(4)(D), 7(A)" and "8(b)(4)(D), 7(C)", but a semicolon in "8(b)(4)(B); 7(A)" and "8(b)(4)(B); 7(C)". In this scan's typeface the digit 5 is easily confused with 6. Every column was checked against its printed section total and all twelve columns reconcile exactly for both the 10(j) block (13 detail rows) and the 10(l) block (16 detail rows), which confirms the readings of the ambiguous cells — in particular Denied for "Under sec. 10(e), total" = 5, and in the "8(b)(4)(B)" row Denied = 5 and Inactive = 5. No arithmetic inconsistencies or suspected misprints were found. Nothing appears cut off by the crop; the caption, the running head rotated along the right edge, and the page number were omitted as instructed.
