p. 268. Crop is a partial page: the table continues past the bottom edge. The last printed row shown is Maryland, and the South Atlantic division it belongs to has no subtotal row on this image. The stub heading carries a raised 1 ("Division and State^1"), but no footnote text appears within the crop, so `footnotes` is empty. Doubtful cells: (1) Kansas, "Valid votes cast for unions / Total" — the second glyph is smudged and could be read as 8 (1,866). I transcribed 1,366 because both the row components (782 + 293 + 137 + 154) and the West North Central column total (26,253) require 1,366, and the neighbouring 1,866/1,860 figures in the eligible-to-vote column make an 8 easy to misread into this cell. (2) The last column heading reads "Eligible employee in units choosing represen-tation" to me; a terminal "s" on "employee" would be hard to resolve at this scan resolution, so the singular may be a reading artefact rather than the printed form. Verification: every state row reconciles (union-win components sum to the won "Total"; won + no-representative = total elections; union vote components sum to the union vote "Total"; union votes + no-union votes = total valid votes cast), and all four division subtotal rows (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central) reconcile to their member states across all 16 numeric columns. No printed figure in the crop appears to be a misprint. Typesetting: the original spaces digit groups after commas ("2, 683"); these are written closed up. Leader dots after state names are dropped.

p. 269. 17 columns. This is a continuation page: no footnote text is printed beneath the table on this crop, so the marker ^1 on the stub heading "Division and State" is unresolved here (its text appears with the first page of the table). The "South Atlantic" subtotal row (985, 497, 315, ...) is larger than the sum of the seven South Atlantic states printed on this crop (which sum to 784 total elections, 400 elections won). This is not a misprint: the South Atlantic division begins on the preceding page (Delaware and Maryland), and those rows are outside the crop. The three subtotals that are fully contained on this crop — East South Central and West South Central — reconcile exactly, as do all component-union breakdowns and the identity (valid votes for unions + total votes for no union = total valid votes cast) for every row shown. The crop ends after Nevada: the Mountain division's states are listed but its subtotal row (and whatever follows) is cut off below. Column 17's heading reads "Eligible employee in units choosing representation" — the word appears to be singular "employee" as set, but the scan is tight and it could be "employees"; comparable tables in other years print "employees".

p. 270. This crop is the end of a table continued from earlier pages: no column headings are printed on it, so header_rows is empty. The grid has 17 columns (stub + 16 numeric), counted from the column rules and confirmed by the 16 values in the "Total, all States and areas" row. The crop begins mid-table with the regional subtotal row "Mountain"; the individual Mountain-division states that sum to it are on the preceding page and are not visible here. The footnote marker "1" that the printed footnote refers to is attached to a stub heading not present on this crop. Internal arithmetic checks all pass as printed: "Pacific" equals the sum of Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam in all 16 columns, and "Outlying areas" equals Puerto Rico + Virgin Islands in all 16 columns. No suspected misprints. Two low-contrast cells were resolved by these checks rather than by shape alone: Virgin Islands, last column, reads 126 (9,891 + 126 = 10,017 as printed in "Outlying areas"); Guam, last column, is a printed zero, not blank. There is a small stray ink mark in the "Total, all States and areas" row just below the value 591,636 (column 8); it is a printing artifact, not a footnote marker or punctuation, and has not been transcribed.
