Reader’s notes
p. 257. Nine columns: stub plus four two-column panels (Total, By employer, By union, By both parties), each with Number and "Percent by type". Footnote marker on the "By both parties" column heading: the raised glyph reads as a 1, but footnote 2 ("Objections filed by more than one party in the same case are counted as 1") is clearly the note that describes this column, and the dropped caption carries its own raised marker (which reads as a 6). The heading marker may therefore actually be a 2; it is transcribed as printed (^1). Decimal points: in this 1-bit scan the period is lost or nearly lost in several percent cells, which print as e.g. "100 0", "34 7", "63 6", "83 3", "39 0", "31 3", "2 6", "1 7", "2 5". They are transcribed with the decimal point (100.0, 34.7, ...), consistent with the one-decimal format used throughout the column and with the arithmetic (every panel's Number cells sum exactly to the Total column, and every row's three percentages sum to 100.0). The affected cells are: RM cases / RD cases / Expedited elections / Board-directed elections in Total-Percent; Consent elections and Regional director-directed elections in Employer-Percent; Stipulated elections and Expedited elections in Union-Percent; Consent, Stipulated, Regional director-directed and Board-directed elections in Both-parties-Percent. "Expedited elections", By both parties / Percent by type, is a dash rule ("------") and is transcribed as an empty cell; the Number cell beside it is a printed 0. A small stray ink speck sits just left of "1.5" in the RC cases row, By both parties / Percent by type column; it is treated as a printing artifact, not a comma or marker. Rounding note (not corrected): several Both-parties percentages are residuals forced to make the row total 100.0 rather than the direct quotient — e.g. Consent elections 3/118 = 2.5 but prints 2.6; Stipulated 11/668 = 1.6 but prints 1.7; Regional director-directed 7/287 = 2.4 but prints 2.5. Transcribed as printed.
