  1. 1 A single case may include allegations of violation of more than 1 subsection of the act. Therefore, the total of the various allegations is greater than the total number of cases
  2. 2 Sec. 8(a)(1) is a general provision forbidding any type of employer interference with the rights of the employees guaranteed by the Act, and therefore is included in all charges of employer unfair labor practices

0 of 79 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 238. Two-panel layout: the left panel (sections A, B and B's first recapitulation lines) is given first, then the right panel (Recapitulation—Continued, B1, B2, C). The column headings are printed once over each panel and are given once here. The stub column has no printed heading (only a stray ink dot above the rule), so header cell 0 is empty. The right panel's first section line reads "Recapitulation 1—Continued"; it is a body section line continuing section B's recapitulation across the panel break, not a table-caption continuation line, so it is kept as a row. The 1-bit scan drops or thins many decimal points in the Percent column, so a number such as 10.3 prints as "10 3" (also 0.5, 0.0, 0.1, 0.3, 100.0, 2.5, 5.0, 0.2, 0.4, 30.5, 72.1, 31.4 and others). These are transcribed with the decimal point; no digit is affected. Section-label wording as printed: "Subsections of Sec. 8(a):" ends with a colon, while "Subsections of Sec. 8(b)." appears to end with a period (possibly a broken colon in the scan); transcribed as it appears. A horizontal scan wrinkle crosses the left-panel rows 8(b)(7) (449 / 5.0) and 8(b)(1)(2) (1,572 / 17.4), slightly distorting those glyphs; both were confirmed arithmetically. Arithmetic checks (not corrections — nothing was altered): the Sec. 8(a) subsection entries sum exactly to 17,733 and the Sec. 8(b) subsection entries to 9,030; every recapitulation line (8(a)(2)–8(a)(5), 8(b)(1)–8(b)(7), 8(b)(4)(A)–(D), 8(b)(7)(A)–(C)) reproduces exactly from the detail rows, and the three Sec. 8(e) lines sum to 86. Two printed percentages are rounded loosely relative to their counts — 8(a)(1)(2)(3) shows 1.2 for 201/17,733 (=1.13) and 8(a)(1)(2)(3)(4)(5) shows 0.2 for 19/17,733 (=0.11); transcribed as printed.
