p. 236. Eight columns: stub, Total, and the six "Identification of filing party" columns. The stub has no printed heading; "Total" is a tall single heading spanning both heading levels. The six "CA cases" / "CB cases" / ... lines are centered section banners spanning the value columns; they are transcribed as label-only rows. Arithmetic checks (row sums of the six party columns against Total, and the On docket = Pending July 1 + Received / Pending June 30 = On docket - Closed identities) hold everywhere except two cells, both transcribed as printed: 1. CB cases, "Pending June 30, 1972", Total column: printed 1,073. The six party cells sum to 1,703, and On docket 7,450 minus Closed 5,747 = 1,703. Every party column in that row checks out individually, so this looks like a digit transposition in the source print rather than a reading error, but the 0/7 pair is the one place a scan misread is possible. 2. CC cases, "Pending June 30, 1972", AFL-CIO unions column: printed 20. On docket 15 minus Closed 13 = 2, and the row sums to 504 (the printed Total) only if this cell is 2. The glyph reads as two characters, right-aligned like the "13" above it, so I have transcribed 20 as printed; the source appears to be in error, or a stray mark has been set as a trailing zero. A stray short dash is printed to the left of 7,450 (CB cases, "On docket fiscal 1972", Total column), outside the digits. It is a printing/scan artifact, not a minus sign — the value is positive and checks arithmetically — so it is omitted from the cell. A similar stray dot sits above the Total column in the header band and is likewise omitted. The 5/6 and 5/8 glyph pairs are soft throughout this font; all such digits were confirmed against the row and column identities above and are consistent.
