Seven columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken" (a tall single heading spanning both header levels), and five columns under the spanner "Formal actions taken by type of case" ("Total formal actions taken", RC, RM, RD, UD). Doubtful label: row 15 reads to me as "Decisions on objectives and/or challenges, total"; given the parallel row "Hearings on objections and/or challenges" earlier in the table, this is very likely a printed misprint (or a scan ambiguity) for "objections". Transcribed as it appears on the image, uncorrected. Printed arithmetic that does not balance (transcribed as printed, nothing computed or corrected): - Row "Decisions on objectives and/or challenges, total" (1,093 / 1,065 / 984 / 59 / 22 / 10) is less than the sum of its two components "By regional directors" (411 / 397 / 369 / 17 / 11 / 8) and "By Board" (724 / 712 / 654 / 47 / 11 / 2) in the first four columns (sums would be 1,135 / 1,109 / 1,023 / 64); the RD and UD columns do add. All other total/subtotal rows in the table do add correctly down their component rows. - In several rows the "Total formal actions taken" column is slightly smaller than RC+RM+RD+UD (e.g. "Hearings completed, total" 2,287 vs 2,289; "Decisions issued, total" 1,999 vs 2,003; "By regional directors" 1,872 vs 1,876; "Elections directed" 1,670 vs 1,673; "Dismissals on record" 202 vs 203). These discrepancies are internally consistent between parent and child rows, so they appear to be in the source rather than mis-readings. Indentation levels of the stub labels are not preserved in the grid; labels are given exactly as printed, with end-of-line hyphens repaired ("di- rectors" -> "directors", "supple- mental" -> "supplemental", "trans- fer" -> "transfer"). The caption's footnote marker (1) belongs to the omitted caption.
