No footnote text is printed within this crop, so `footnotes` is empty even though the stub heading carries a raised "1" marker; the text of footnote 1 must be elsewhere. Doubtful cell: Indiana, "Valid votes cast for unions / Other local unions". I read the printed digits as 883 and transcribed them as seen, but there is a small stray mark beside this cell in the scan and two independent arithmetic checks both point to 783 instead: (a) the row's own union subtotal, 8,922 + 1,336 + 1,344 + 883 = 12,485, does not match the printed 12,385 (it matches with 783); (b) the East North Central column total of 3,151 less the other four states (1,388 + 461 + 402 + 117 = 2,368) leaves 783. Indiana's printed row total 12,385 is itself consistent with the East North Central total of 67,801, so the discrepancy is isolated to this one component cell. Treat it as either a misread 7 or a misprint. Every other cell reconciles: in all four divisions shown, the union-win components sum to the win total, wins plus "no representative chosen" equal total elections, the union vote components sum to the union vote total, union votes plus "no union" votes equal total valid votes cast, and each state column sums to its printed division line. Minor rendering points: "Teamsters" and several headings are hyphenated across lines in the original and have been rejoined; the headings over columns 3 and 11 are printed "AFL–CIO unions" with a long hyphen and are written "AFL-CIO unions".

The crop is a continuation page of Table 15 and is cut off at the bottom: the West South Central section begins with Arkansas and Louisiana but its remaining states and the division subtotal are below the crop. The stub heading carries a raised footnote marker ("Division and State^1"), but no footnote text is printed within this crop, so `footnotes` is empty. The scan is slightly degraded (broken serifs on several digits), so a few cells were read with help from the printed arithmetic; all of them reconcile. Specifically: Arkansas, Valid votes cast for unions / Total reads 4,569 (the "5" and "6" are partly filled in), confirmed by 3,930+417+12+210 = 4,569 and 4,569+2,973 = 7,542. Florida, Valid votes cast for unions / AFL-CIO unions reads 4,106 (confirmed by 4,106+1,505+349+39 = 5,999). East South Central, Valid votes cast for unions / Total reads 29,419 and its "Total elections" column subtotal reads 516; both reconcile with the four state rows above. Every data row's component columns sum to their printed row totals, every state column sums to its printed division subtotal (South Atlantic and East South Central), and Total valid votes cast equals union votes plus no-union votes in every row, so no misprints were detected.

p. 246. This crop is the final portion of a table carried over from the preceding page: no column headings are printed on the image, so header_rows is empty. The grid has 17 cells per row (stub + 16 numeric columns), counted from the vertical column rules; the 16th (last) numeric column is set off by a wider gutter but is a single column. The body begins mid-section (Oklahoma and Texas are the tail of the West South Central group whose earlier States fall on the previous page). Scan quality is good; the only characters I weighed twice were Oklahoma col 1 ("109"), New Mexico col 16 ("1,094") and California col 16 ("37,429"), all of which I read as transcribed. Double horizontal rules separate the regional total lines (West South Central, Mountain, Pacific, Outlying Areas) from the State lines; the stub label "Total, all States and areas" is printed on two lines and is joined here. No printed value appeared blank or dashed. I did not verify any column or row sums.
