Reader’s notes

p. 228. 15 columns: the stub plus seven case-type panels (All C, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CP), each with a "Number of cases" and a "Percent of cases closed" column. Decimal points: in this scan the decimal point in the percent columns is almost entirely dropped by the printing/scanning, so the cells read as "100 0", "85 8", etc. The point is genuinely printed (it survives clearly in the CA cell of the "After trial examiner's decision..." row, "1.0"), and every percent column sums to exactly 100.0 when read with one decimal place, so I transcribed all percent cells with the decimal point. The fourth panel heading is set as "CC cases"; the two C's are thickened in the scan and can look like "GC cases". Read as CC, consistent with the C-case series CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CP. Percent cells that carry a dash rule (-------) rather than a figure are transcribed as "": CD and CE in the "After trial examiner's decision..." row, CE in the "After hearing opened..." / "After Board order adopting..." / "After Board decision..." rows, CP in the "After hearing opened..." and "After Supreme Court action" rows. The matching "Number of cases" cells in those positions print an explicit 0 and are kept as 0. Arithmetic check (not applied to the transcription, reported only as a confidence note): in every panel the eight stage rows sum exactly to the printed "Total number of cases closed" and the percents sum to 100.0, so no printed figure appears to be in error. The table's footnote marker 1 is attached to the caption, which is excluded per instructions; the footnote text itself is retained.
