Reader’s notes
p. 249. The table has 8 printed columns: the stub plus "Objections filed", "Objections withdrawn", "Objections ruled upon", and four columns under the spanner "Disposition of objections ruled upon" (Overruled Number / Percent, Sustained Number / Percent). Doubtful cell: "All elections", Sustained "Percent of total ruled upon". The scan prints it as "29 7" with no visible decimal point, while every other cell in the two percent columns prints as "70. 3", "69. 9", etc. I transcribed it as "29.7" on the assumption the point was lost in this 1-bit scan; the column arithmetic supports it (100.0 - 70.3 = 29.7). Footnote 2 as printed has no period after "...objections were sustained" before "In 105 elections"; transcribed as printed. A small stray tick mark appears in the left margin beside the footnote-2 line; it is a scan artifact, not a marker. All printed totals are internally consistent: 1,275 + 59 + 35 = 1,369; 327 + 10 + 5 = 342; 948 + 49 + 30 = 1,027; and within each row Overruled + Sustained equals "Objections ruled upon". The caption's footnote marker 1 (on "Fiscal Year 1967") is part of the excluded caption and is not carried into the grid.
