Reader’s notes
p. 246. Eleven columns: stub plus Number/Percent pairs for All R, RC, RM, RD and UD cases. The caption carries footnote marker 1 (excluded per instructions); the only footnote is printed below the table. Print quality: in many percent cells the decimal point is faint or has dropped out in the scan, so the cell reads like "100 0", "68 8", "17 5", "10 6", "20 9", "11 6", "0 5", "1 8", "12 4", "6 0", "2 1". Since every such cell is a percentage printed to one decimal place and the gap sits exactly where the point belongs, these are transcribed with the decimal point restored (e.g. "100.0", "68.8"). No digits were altered. Two cells in the All R "Number" column are overwritten by handwritten pen marks (a caret/arrow and loops) from the scanned copy: (a) "By withdrawal, total" -> "Before notice of hearing", read as 1,944 — the handwriting crosses the digits and the reading of the second digit is slightly doubtful (1,944 is consistent with 1,944 + 923 + 49 + 159 + 10 = 3,085, the printed withdrawal total); (b) "By dismissal, total" -> "Before notice of hearing", read as 865 — heavily obscured, but 865 + 83 + 4 + 285 + 74 = 1,311 matches the printed dismissal total. "By dismissal, total" All R Number is printed as "1,311." with a trailing point that runs into the leader dots; transcribed as 1,311. "Stipulated election" -> "After notice of hearing, before hearing closed", RD Percent, is printed with a stray ink dot before the figure ("·4 7"); transcribed as 4.7. Dash rules ("-------") in percent cells beside a printed 0 are transcribed as empty cells, per instructions. "After:" is a section line with a label and no values.
