Reader’s notes

p. 229. Eight printed columns: stub, Total, and six columns under the spanner \"Identification of filing party\". The stub heading cell is blank on both heading levels; \"Total\" is a tall single heading spanning both levels. The six band lines (\"CA Cases\", \"CB Cases\", \"CC Cases\", \"CD Cases\", \"CE Cases\", \"CP Cases\") are printed centered across the full width of the table between horizontal rules, with no values; they are transcribed as label-only rows. The same five row labels (Pending July 1, 1966 / Received fiscal 1967 / On docket fiscal 1967 / Closed fiscal 1967 / Pending June 30, 1967) repeat within each band. All 30 data rows cross-foot exactly: the six filing-party cells sum to the printed Total in every row, and in every band \"On docket\" equals \"Pending July 1\" plus \"Received\" and \"Pending June 30\" equals \"On docket\" minus \"Closed\". No printed total appears to be in error. Two glyphs were resolved with the help of those checks, both in the \"Other national unions\" column: CB \"Pending June 30, 1967\" is 5 (the worn glyph could be read as 6, but 6 would make the row and the band's subtraction both fail by one), and CC \"Pending June 30, 1967\" is 6 (confirmed by 37 - 31 = 6). There is a small stray ink mark in the Employers column on the CA \"Received fiscal 1967\" line, just left of the value 18; it is printing debris, not a digit or a footnote marker, and is not transcribed. The leader dots after the row labels and the vertical/horizontal rules are dropped as instructed. The caption carries footnote marker 1 but the caption itself is excluded; footnote 1 is reproduced in `footnotes`. No part of the table appears cut off by the crop.
