The crop shows only the top portion of Table 15: the body ends after Kansas (West North Central) with no bottom rule and no footnote text, so the remaining divisions/States and the footnote keyed to the stub heading marker "1" fall on the continuation. Consistent with that, the "Total, All States and areas" row is much larger than the sum of the four divisions shown. 17 columns: stub; "Total elections"; five columns under "Number of elections in which representation rights were won by unions"; "Number of elections in which no representative was chosen"; "Number of employees eligible to vote"; "Total valid votes cast"; five columns under "Valid votes cast for unions"; "Total votes for no union"; and the last column. Doubtful / anomalous cells: - Massachusetts, "Other national unions" (elections won by unions): printed as 0, but the row is internally inconsistent (76 + 49 + 0 + 8 = 133, not the printed row total 143) and the New England column entry of 11 exceeds the sum of its States (1). Both checks imply this cell should be 10; a leading "1" may be dropped in print or lost in the scan. Transcribed as read (0). - Middle Atlantic, "Total valid votes cast": the thousands separator images as a period ("68.699"). It is certainly a comma (25,181 + 16,516 + 27,002 = 68,699), so transcribed "68,699". - North Dakota, "Number of employees eligible to vote": a stray dash/leader mark precedes the figure in the scan ("-485"). The value is 485 (the West North Central column sums to the printed 37,185), so transcribed "485". - Heading of the last column: at this scan resolution it reads "Eligible employee in units choosing representation" (singular "employee"); the intended/standard wording in these tables is "employees", so a final "s" may be lost in the scan. Transcribed as read. - Heading "Number of employees eligible to vote": the last word images as "vcte" in the scan; transcribed as "vote". All other rows were checked against the printed row totals (component unions summing to "Total", union + no-union votes summing to "Total valid votes cast") and against the four printed division totals; every one of those checks balances.

p. 218. Continuation page: no column headings are printed on this crop, so header_rows is empty. The grid has 17 columns (stub + 16 data columns); the last column (38,616 in the South Atlantic line) is set off by a wider gutter but is a printed column of the same table. Arithmetic checks: every region subtotal reconciles with its member States, and the internal relations (col 1 = col 2 + col 7; col 2 = cols 3-6; col 9 = col 10 + col 15; col 10 = cols 11-14) hold for every row — with one exception. In column 8 the nine South Atlantic States sum to 73,259, while the printed South Atlantic total is 73,256 (a difference of 3). All nine State figures and the total were re-read and transcribed as printed; the discrepancy is either a printer's error in the total or a single mis-set State digit that could not be resolved from the scan. The most likely candidates, if a digit is wrong, are the four-digit/five-digit values in that column, but nothing in the image indicates which. Minor image artifacts, not transcribed: a small ink speck sits just above "4,108" in the South Carolina line (column 9), and a stray mark falls in the leader dots of the "Pacific" stub label. Neither is a footnote marker. Row labels appear in the printed style with the region lines flush left and the State lines indented; no indentation is encoded in the cells. The footnote marker "1" belongs to a heading on the preceding page (the States grouping) that is not visible in this crop.
