Reader’s notes
p. 209. 15 columns: stub + 5 under "Number of polls" + 5 under "Employees involved" + 4 under "Valid votes cast". The scan renders most decimal points in the percent columns as faint gaps (e.g. "72 9", "100 0"); these are one-decimal percentages and are transcribed with the decimal point (72.9, 100.0). Only the last column of the Total row ("55. 2") and of the Other local unions row ("46.7") show the period distinctly. In the Teamsters row the two "Percent of total" cells for "Resulting in continued authorization" (poll percent and employees-in-polls percent) are printed as dash rules and are given as "". The superscript 1 belongs to the spanner heading "Employees involved (number eligible to vote)". All printed totals check out: the four affiliation rows sum to the Total row in every count column (48, 35, 13, 3,975, 2,759, 1,216, 3,426, 2,196), and every printed percentage matches its ratio to one decimal place.
