Reader’s notes

p. 198. Nine columns: stub plus four Number/Percent pairs (Total, By employer, By union, By both parties). The scan has dropped or faded the decimal point in most percent cells, which print as e.g. "100 0", "24 9", "93 7", "4 0", "1 3", "2 6", "2 3"; these are one-decimal percentages (the clearly printed "1.0", ".1", "2.1" in the same columns confirm the format), so they are transcribed with the decimal point restored. No digits were altered. The scan is also speckled, so some dots in the caption and footnotes render faintly ("definition", "Objections"); the footnote wording is given as intended. All columns cross-foot as printed: 250+741+12=1,003; 236+694+10=940; 13+26+1=40; 1+21+1=23; and 940+40+23=1,003.
