Reader’s notes

p. 178. The page holds one table printed as two stacked sections, "A BY EMPLOYERS" (with footnote marker 1) and "B BY UNIONS" (marker 4); each is centred above its own ruled box and is transcribed as a label-only section row. Column headings are printed only once, over section A, and are given once in header_rows; section B's box repeats no headings. Within each section the centred band headings "Cases" and "Workers" span the four data columns and carry no values; they are transcribed as label-only section rows in the stub, which is why "Cases" and "Workers" each appear twice. The stub column has no printed heading. In the last row, section B "Backpay awards" / Total, the figure is printed as "$71 640" with the comma either very faint or broken in the scan; transcribed as $71,640 on the pattern of the other money cells. Section B "Notice posted" / By recommendation of trial examiner reads 18; the 1 is partly clipped by the column rule but the two-digit reading is consistent with the row. Low-level scan artefacts (worn serifs, i-dots missing in the row labels) were read through; no value was computed or corrected.
