  1. 1 A single case may include allegations of violations of more than one section of the Act. Therefore, the total of the various allegations is more than the figures for the total cases.
  2. 2 An 8(a)(1) is a general provision forbidding any type of employer interference with the rights of the employees guaranteed by the Act, and therefore is included in all charges of employer unfair labor practices.

0 of 24 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 177. The page is set as two side-by-side panels sharing one pair of column headings; each of sections A, B and C fills the left panel first and continues in the right panel. Following the two-panel rule, the panels are stacked: within each section the left panel's rows come first, then the right panel's, and the headings are given once. Section D occupies only the left panel (the right panel is empty on the page). The four centered banner lines (A, B, C, D) are section lines carrying no values. This is a heavily inked/degraded 1-bit scan in which many periods and thousands commas have dropped out: the percent column prints e.g. "100 0", "71 6", "52 7" and the number column prints "4 553", "1 080", "6. 840". These are plainly the printed "100.0", "71.6", "52.7", "4,553", "1,080", "6,840" — every percent recomputes correctly against the corresponding counts — so the punctuation has been restored rather than transcribed as the gaps that survive in the scan. Likewise the periods after the section letters ("A.") and after "SEC." in the banner lines are not legible in this image but are restored from the spacing; the banner wording itself is clear. Specific doubtful cells: 8(b)(6), Percent of total cases — the scan shows only "3"; the companion row 8(b)(5) prints ".6" in the same leading-decimal style and 14/4,553 = 0.3 percent, so it is transcribed ".6"-style as ".3". 8(b)(5), Percent of total cases is printed with a space after the point (". 6") and is given as ".6". The raised 1 and 2 markers in section A, B and C stand before their values on the page (e.g. a raised 1 then 9,550); they are written after the value behind a caret per instruction. In section A the footnote-1 total row is separated from the detail rows by a short rule under the two value columns; that rule is not a row. Nothing appears cut off by the crop.
