Reader’s notes

p. 296. Six columns: Case No. (stub), Name of complainant, Name of union, and the three Disposition-of-injunctions columns Granted / Denied / Pending. Section line: "8(b)(4)(B)" is printed in italics, centred over the "Name of complainant" column rather than in the stub; it is entered here as a section label in cell 0 with the other cells empty, per the section-line convention. The table is continued from/onto other pages: the body ends mid-list at 1-CC-290 and the line "See footnote at end of table." is printed below the rule, clipped by the bottom edge of the crop. No footnote text appears on this image, so `footnotes` is empty; the asterisk markers on many union names refer to that off-page footnote. Dash rules ("--------") and leader dots in the Granted/Denied/Pending columns are transcribed as "". Every row carries exactly one "x". Doubtful readings: - 22-CC-163, Name of complainant: printed glyphs read "The Whvte Company"; the "y" descender is broken in the scan and the name is almost certainly "The Whyte Company" (transcribed as Whyte). - 2-CC-678, Name of union: printed as "Furniture Wkrs , Local 140" — the period after "Wkrs" is faint or dropped in the scan; transcribed as "Furniture Wkrs., Local 140". - 13-CC-267, Name of complainant: "Warren H Tetzlaff" is printed with no period after the initial H; kept as printed. - 4-CC-215, Name of complainant: a stray mark precedes "Motor" ("Washington _Motor"); treated as a scan artifact, not punctuation. - Trailing periods that end a wrapped complainant or union name (e.g. "Apartment Building Realty Trust.", "Electrical Workers, Local 459 (IUE).") are retained as printed; a trailing period that was only a leader dot has been dropped (e.g. "Sheet Metal Workers, Local 28"). - 10-CC-484 vs 10-CC-488 (both Bowman Transportation) are printed in that order on the page (488 above 484); transcribed in printed order, not re-sorted.

p. 297. This is a continuation page: the first three rows (2-CC-693, 1-CC-293, 7-CC-159) fall under a section heading printed on the preceding page (the 8(b)(4)(B) group), which is not visible in this crop. Six rows carry only a centred section label and no data: 8(b)(4)(C), 8(b)(4)(D), 8(e), 8(b)(7)(A), 8(b)(7)(B), 8(b)(7)(C). They are printed in italic and centred over the complainant column; I placed them in the stub. The raised asterisks on eight union names (Teamsters Local 802, Local 42, Local 83, Local 901, Mail Deliverers Union, Teamsters Local 38, Local 743, Local 886) are footnote markers keyed to a footnote printed at the end of the table, which is not on this crop; the only note line here is the partially cut-off "See footnote at end of table." at the bottom edge, whose letters are clipped below the baseline. Row 26-CD-7 (Paul Hardeman, Inc., Fishbach & Moore, Inc. & Morrison Knudsen) is the only row with an "x" in two disposition columns: Granted and Pending. Its Denied cell is blank rather than a dash rule, unlike neighbouring rows. Dash rules ("------") in the Granted and Denied columns are transcribed as empty cells per instruction. Row 22-CD-54: the complainant reads "Schwerman Co. of Pa , Inc." in the scan, with a faint mark between "Pa" and the comma; I read it as "Schwerman Co. of Pa., Inc." Throughout the complainant and union columns, a terminal period is often indistinguishable from the first leader dot. Where a name ends in a standard abbreviation (Inc, Corp, Co, et al) I have written the period; a few of these could be printed without one. Rows 6-CP-10 (Carpenters, et al.) and 26-CP-3 (Hod Carriers, Local 107) show a stray apostrophe-like speck after the comma in the union name, which I read as scan noise and did not transcribe.

p. 298. Six printed columns: Case No. (stub), Name of complainant, Name of union, then Granted / Denied / Pending under the spanning head "Disposition of injunctions". Section rows: the italic statutory-section labels (8(b)(4) (A) & (B), 8(a)(5), etc.) and the "10(j)" line are printed centred within the "Name of complainant" column, not in the stub; they are label-only rows and have been placed in the stub cell with the remaining cells empty. "10(j)" is a group heading in its own right (it separates the 10(l) cases above from the 10(j) cases below) and is followed on the next line by its own section label "8(a) (1), (3), (5)"; a small stray ink mark sits just above the "10(j)" line in the scan. Disposition cells: a cell holding only a dash rule (------) is recorded as "". Each case has exactly one "x". Notably 3-CC-165/3-CD-70, 10-CA-4819 and 13-CA-4627 are marked Denied; 7-CC-200/7-CP-25 is the only Pending. Asterisks attached to union/organization names (Local 559, Local 282, Local 1382, Marine Engineers, Local 246 & 33, Local 753, Local 19, Vehicle Salesmen's Union (Ind.)) are the footnote marker and are written behind a caret. Faint punctuation: this is a 1-bit scan and several abbreviation periods are very light or dropped. Transcribed with the period where the abbreviation is unambiguous — "Case No." (header), "Weis Builders Inc.", "Pan American World Airways, Inc.", "Electrical Wkrs., Local 3" (printed as "Wkrs ,"), "Telecomputing Corp., et al." (printed "Corp ,"), "Loc. 398.", "Elmwood Ford Motors, Inc.", "Vehicle Salesmen's Union (Ind.)". Readers wanting strict glyph fidelity should treat those periods as uncertain. Suspected misprint, transcribed as printed: the union for 1-CC-304/1-CD-67 reads "Buildings & Constructions Trade Council Local 12, et al" (conventionally "Building & Construction Trades Council"). End-of-line hyphens repaired: "Construc-tors."→Constructors., "Seal-test"→Sealtest, "Divi-sion"→Division, "Indus-tries."→Industries., "Pend-ing"→Pending. Leader dots after labels dropped. Stray specks appear below the last row in the Case No. and complainant columns and after the "8(a) (1), (3)" label; they are not content.
