p. 209. Ten columns: the stub, four under "Number of elections", and five under "Number of employees involved (number eligible to vote)". The last column, "Total valid votes cast", sits under the employees spanner: the spanner rule and the centring of its text run to the right edge of the table, so it covers all five columns even though "total valid votes cast" and "number eligible to vote" are different quantities. Arithmetic check: all nine value columns sum exactly to the printed Total row (6,380; 2,400; 1,340; 2,640; 483,964; 178,427; 107,621; 197,916; 436,723). No misprint detected. Typography in this scan is degraded in two places and I rendered it uniformly rather than copying the dropout. (1) The abbreviation "v." loses its period irregularly (e.g. "AFL-CIO v Unaffiliated" in the 2-union block, and all three "v" in "AFL-CIO v AFL-CIO v AFL-CIO"); since the period is clearly present on other instances of the same word in the same column, I transcribed every one as "v.". (2) The section labels: the colon is clearly legible on "1-union elections:" and on "5-union election:", but not resolvable on the 2-, 3- and 4-union lines; I transcribed all four section labels with the colon on the same reasoning. A reader wanting the literal glyphs should re-check these at higher magnification. "5-union election: AFL-CIO v. AFL-CIO v. AFL-CIO v. AFL-CIO v. Unaffiliated" is a single row whose label wraps onto two printed lines, with its values printed on the second line; it carries its own figures, so it is not a valueless section line. Dash rules ("------") in the AFL-CIO-won and Unaffiliated-won columns mark inapplicable cells and are transcribed as "". Printed zeros are kept as 0 and are distinct from those blanks. The caption carries footnote marker 1 on the word "Elections"; per instructions the caption is omitted, but the single printed footnote is retained.
