Reader’s notes
p. 182. Six printed columns: stub, "Total elections", and four columns under the spanner "Type of election". "Total elections" and the stub heading "Type of case" are tall headings spanning both heading levels, so they are repeated in each level. In the "Regional Director directed" column, the twelve rows of the RC, RM and RD blocks carry dash rules (------) rather than values; these are transcribed as "". The raised 5 on the four "cases" rows is printed immediately after the comma ("RC cases,5 total"), so it is written as "RC cases,^5 total". Arithmetic check (not applied to the cells, only reported): every row sums across the four type-of-election columns to the printed "Total elections" value, and the RC+RM+RD+UD block totals sum to the "All elections, total" line in each column. No misprints detected. Scan quality: several sentence-ending periods in footnotes 1, 3 and 4 are faint or absent in the scan; footnote 3 after "by the Board" and footnote 4 after "regional director" appear to have a period that did not print, so a double space is left there as printed. Footnote 5 likewise ends without a visible period. Row labels show light speckling ("Eligible"/"Valid" occasionally render as "Ehgible"/"Vahd" from the broken i-dots), but the intended wording is unambiguous and is given normalized to the printed words.
