Reader’s notes

p. 181. Decimal points in the percent columns are mostly lost in this 1-bit scan (e.g. "100 0", "27 1" print as digit-space-digit); a few survive ("5.7", "6.1", "1.7", "1.9", ".6", ".3", "2.9"). I have restored the decimal point in every percent cell, since the surviving instances and the arithmetic (each percent equals the row's count over its column total) confirm the one-decimal format throughout. Percent values below 1 are printed with a leading decimal and no zero (".5", ".7", ".8", ".4", ".6", ".3", ".2"); in several of these the point did not reproduce and only the digit is visible — the affected cells are "After hearing opened, before Board decision" under Stipulated election (RM and RD percent), "After Board decision and direction of election" (RM and RD percent), and "After hearing opened, before Board decision" under Dismissed (RM and RD percent). The RD percent for "Before notice of hearing" under Withdrawn is broken type; I read it as 23.7, which matches 132/557. In the "By Board decision" row the raised 2 is printed to the left of 260, and I have transcribed it as the footnote marker 260^2 (footnote 2 under the table confirms it). All five method subtotals and the four column totals add correctly, as do the component lines under each method.
