Case numbers 10-CC-255,256 and 10-CC-257-262,264-266 carry a raised 2 after the second number. "May 1, 1957^3" (2-CD-126) has a raised 3. Four cells in "Date temporary injunction granted" (3-CC-57, 3-CC-53, 10-CC-257 group, 8-CD-8) contain only a raised 1 in parentheses, transcribed as (1) — it stands in for a value rather than annotating one. No footnote text appears on this crop; the footnotes for markers 1, 2, 3 and * must be below the cropped area or on a following page. Scan punctuation: this is a coarse 1-bit scan and many abbreviation periods have dropped out. I transcribed what is visible, so some cells read "Inc )", "Co )", "Aug 6, 1956", "Sept 21, 1956", "J Hilbert Sapp", "A C. West", "(I R. compliance)" where the printed original very likely has periods. Treat missing periods as scan loss, not as evidence about the source. Doubtful readings: the company name in 3-CC-53, read as "Boohner Lumber Co., Inc." (could be Bochner/Boehner); "Denali-McCray" in 19-CD-26; "Mooi Roofing Co" in 7-CC-49. The Type of petition column is "10 (l)" (lower-case l, section 10(l)) in every row, though the glyph is indistinguishable from a 1 at this resolution. Small stray ink marks sit to the left of "256" and "CC-4-12" in the two multi-line case-number cells; I read them as artifacts and did not transcribe them. Row 2-CD-133 has no entry in either "Date temporary injunction granted" or "Date injunction denied" — one of the two carries a dash rule, the other is blank, and I could not resolve which, but both map to "" regardless.

Doubtful readings: (a) row "4-CC-81-83", union column — the word appears to be printed "Drivrs" (no "e"), unlike "Drivers" spelled in full in rows 21-CC-238 and 16-CC-71; transcribed as seen, likely an original misprint for "Drivers". (b) row "5-CC-71", union column — "MEBA" is letter-spaced in the print ("M E B A"); closed up here. (c) row "2-CC-407", last column — the separator in "July 10, 1957." looks like a period rather than a comma in the scan; transcribed as a comma, which is the pattern of every other date. (d) The scan is a 1-bit halftone in which terminal periods inside parentheses often drop out, so "Co )", "Ltd )", "Inc )", "et al )" are given without the period exactly as they image; some of these are probably "Co.)", "Ltd.)", etc. in the original. (e) Month abbreviations are inconsistently followed by a period in the print (e.g. "Oct 24, 1956" vs "Nov. 2, 1956"); each cell follows what I could see, but individual periods are at the resolution limit. Multi-line row labels and cells were joined: "6-CC-125, CD-53.", "15-CC-59, 61", "11-CC-11, 12.", "10-CC-287, 288, CD-76, 77.", "24-CC-44, 46."; and in the last column "Settled 6-CC-125, withdrawn 6-CD-53" and "Mar 20, 1957 (I R compliance)", repairing end-of-line hyphens.

p. 177. Crop is a "—Continued" page of Table 20; no footnote block is printed on this image, so `footnotes` is empty even though markers 1, 3 and * are used in the body. The table continues past the bottom of the crop: the last body row (7-CC-58) is complete but the closing rule and any further rows are cut off. Footnote markers: the "Date temporary injunction granted" column repeatedly shows a small raised "(1)" standing alone with no value beside it; I transcribed this as `^1` per the caret convention. The date "Apr. 25, 1957" in row 2-CD-126 carries a raised 3, transcribed `Apr. 25, 1957^3`. Three union names are printed with a leading asterisk (17-CC-57, 13-CC-131, 21-CC-258); following the marker rule these are written at the end of the label as `^*`, not at the front where they are printed. "Type of petition" column: every cell is the statutory reference for Section 10(l). The glyph after "10 (" is ambiguous in this typeface between lowercase "l" and digit "1"; I transcribed it as `10 (l)` on the basis of the statutory meaning (10(l) petitions in CC and CD cases). If a literal glyph reading is wanted, each of these 13 cells is the candidate. The scan drops light punctuation (the same degradation turns "injunction" into "mjunction" and "No." into "No" on screen). I have therefore rendered standard abbreviation periods — "Mar.", "Apr.", "Sept.", "Jan.", "Oct.", "Nov.", "Feb.", "Co.", "Corp.", "Inc.", "Harry T.", "Case No." — even where the dot is not visible at this resolution. Terminal periods on label and decision cells were transcribed only where visible, which is why "Settled" appears without a period for 14-CC-101 and 9-CC-96 but as "Settled." for 13-CC-135-137, 13-CC-131 and 7-CC-58; that inconsistency is as printed, but it is near the limit of legibility. Specific doubtful cells: row 17-CC-57, "Date Board decision and/or order" — a speck sits between "July" and "5", reading as `July˜5, 1957`; I take it as a scanning artifact and transcribe "July 5, 1957". Row 5-CC-75/CD-24 has a stray dot in the "Date injunction denied" column, and a small tilde-shaped mark floats in that same column just above the 24-CC-49 row; both read as specks, and those cells are transcribed as "" (printed dash rules). Case numbers 13-CC-135-137, 5-CC-75/CD-24, 3-CC-64/CD-26 and 2-CD-126 wrap onto two or more printed lines in the stub and have been joined into single labels.

Transcribed as the printed characters rather than with a caret because the marker is the entire cell content and the parentheses are printed. Several case names in column 1 carry a leading asterisk (printed before the first word). Treated as a footnote marker and moved to the end of the label behind a caret, per the marker convention; the rows affected are 2-CC-436, 10-CC-315, 4-CC-86, 13-CB-505, 3-CC-69/70, 14-CD-71, and 39-CC-37. Note that 9-CC-102 and 21-CC-270 have no asterisk. This is a 1-bit scan that frequently drops light periods after abbreviations ("Corp )", "Co )", "Wkrs ,", "N. C ,", "Dec 31", "Oct 29"). Periods were restored where the printed original unambiguously has them; if the consumer needs strictly literal glyphs, these are the cells to re-check. Hyphens kept in "Wire-mold", "Bilt-Well" and "Winston-Salem", which fall mid-line and are part of the names. Clipped by the crop: a line reading "See footnotes at end of table." runs under the table at the bottom edge, with only the tops of the letters surviving. Because it is a cross-reference rather than a marked footnote, and because it is only partly legible, it is reported here instead of in footnotes. The vertical string "491249—59——12" down the left margin is the Government Printing Office signature mark, not table content.

The "Temporary restraining order" spanner covers two columns ("Date issued" / "Date lifted"); all other headings are tall single headings repeated in both levels. Most cells in the two restraining-order columns, and many in the "Date injunction denied" / "dismissed or dissolved" / "Board decision" columns, hold only a dash rule (------) and are transcribed as "". Footnote markers: in the "Date temporary injunction granted" column, seven rows (17-CC-66, 33-CC-16, 16-CC-74, 1-CC-177, 19-CC-101, 24-CC-50) carry a parenthesized raised "1" as the entire cell content. (row 9-CC-157) may be "Skilken"; "Lowell Hunt" (row 9-CC-155) is printed with a broken capital that reads like "IIunt". The stub cells "2-CC-460, CD-166.", "6-CC-157-168." and "9-CC-155, CD-34." end in what looks like a true period rather than leader dots, so the period is kept; trailing leader dots elsewhere were dropped. The crop ends immediately below the last body row (a sliver of a mark is visible at the lower left), so any footnotes or further rows printed under the table are not on this image.

p. 185. This is a "—Continued" page, but the full two-level column heading block is reprinted on it, so header_rows is filled in. Ten printed columns; "Temporary restraining order" spans the two columns "Date issued" and "Date lifted". Asterisk markers: in the "Union and company" column the rows 18-CC-55, 2-CC-464, 2-CD-167 and 22-CC-14/CD-18 are printed with a leading asterisk before the union name (the marker for the unnumbered "*All unions are affiliated with AFL-CIO except those indicated by an asterisk" footnote). Per the marker convention the asterisk has been moved to the end of the cell as ^*; in the image it stands in front of the first word. "(1)" cell: in row "35-CC-47-51, CD-29-33.", column "Date temporary injunction granted", the entry is a parenthesized small raised numeral (a footnote reference standing in place of a date), not a date or a count. The digit reads as 1 but it is tiny; another single digit cannot be fully excluded. It is transcribed as printed, "(1)". Faint periods: this scan drops many light full stops after abbreviations, which print as a bare gap before the following comma or parenthesis (e.g. "Co ,", "Corp )", "Inc )", "Bldg", "St", "Bros ,", "etc ,", "sec 10 (k)", "Aug 1, 1956"). Those periods have been restored in both the cells and the footnotes. Row 1-CD-57: the closing parenthesis after "Southern New England Telephone Co.)" is clearly printed, but no opening parenthesis is visible after "et al" on the line above — it has been supplied, since the name is plainly the charged company in parentheses as in every other row. Row 2-CB-2216: "Mid-Island Electrical Sales Copp.," is transcribed as it appears; it is almost certainly "Corp." in the original, with the r/p pair merged by the scan. All cells rendered with a dash rule ("------") carry no value and are transcribed as "". Column 10 ("Date Board decision and/or order") is filled only in the first row ("Withdrawn."); the dash rules in the other rows stop at column 9 and column 10 is blank there. Footnote 7 ends without a terminal period, as printed. There is a small stray ink mark in the left margin beside the last row ("22-CC-14, CD-18."); it is a page artifact, not a character.
