p. 171. Eleven printed columns. The stub heading carries a superscript footnote marker ("Division and State ^1"), but no footnote text appears within this crop — the footnote presumably sits at the foot of the page or at the end of the table on a following page, so `footnotes` is empty. The headings "Total", "In which no representative was chosen", "Employees eligible to vote", "Total valid votes cast" and "Employees in units choosing representation" are tall single headings spanning both heading levels and are repeated in both; "Number of elections in which representation rights were won by—" spans two columns and "Valid votes cast for—" spans three. The right-hand heading is printed hyphenated across lines as "representa- tion" and is joined here as "representation". The crop is cut off after Kansas: the table continues (South Atlantic and later divisions) on the following page, and the Total row at the top covers the whole table, not just the divisions shown here. Arithmetic cross-checks pass for every row shown: columns 2+3+4 equal column 1, and columns 7+8+9 equal column 6, in all 26 rows. No misprints detected. The one cell worth flagging as unusual but legible is New Hampshire, "Valid votes cast for— / Unaffiliated unions", printed as a single digit 6.

p. 172. This crop is a continuation page: no column headings are printed on it, so header_rows is empty. Eleven columns were counted from the vertical rules (stub + 10 numeric columns); the stub is a wide column whose left portion is blank, with region lines (South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central, Mountain, Pacific, Outlying areas) set flush left and the states indented beneath them. The table is cut off at the top by the crop — the preceding regions and the grand total are not on this image. Doubtful/repaired cells: Tennessee, 5th numeric column, is printed "10 532" with no visible comma; transcribed as 10,532 (the column foots to the printed East South Central total of 22,273 with that value). Mississippi, 7th numeric column, shows what looks like a period rather than a comma ("1.024"); transcribed as 1,024, which is confirmed by the column footing to 9,257. Possible misprint or misread: every column of every region was cross-footed against its printed regional total and all agree exactly, with one exception — in the 5th numeric column the nine South Atlantic state entries as transcribed (1,193; 6,433; 4,301; 8,219; 4,680; 7,887; 1,462; 8,437; 9,563) sum to 52,175, while the printed South Atlantic total is 52,155, a difference of 20. All nine other columns of the South Atlantic block foot exactly, so either one of these nine entries contains a digit I could not resolve at this scan resolution (the tens digit of one value) or the printed total is in error. Values are transcribed exactly as printed/read; nothing was adjusted to force the total. Internal structure note (used only as a check, not an edit): in every row the 6th numeric column equals the sum of the 7th, 8th and 9th.
