p. 170. The table is printed as two stacked panels, A and B, sharing one set of column headings; both panel captions are transcribed as label-only rows. Note that "A COLLECTIVE-BARGAINING ELECTIONS" is printed above the column headings (as a sub-caption, outside the top rule), while "B. DECERTIFICATION ELECTIONS" sits between the two framed panels; "A" is printed without a period, "B." with one. Decimal points in the percent columns are very faint or broken throughout this scan, so most percent values read as a digit, a space and a digit (e.g. "100 0", "20 4", "22 7"); they have been transcribed as decimal points. This reading is strongly corroborated: all four Number columns and all four Percent columns in both panels sum exactly to their printed totals (A: 4,337 = 2,131 + 505 + 1,701, and each percent column to 100.0; B: 153 = 55 + 4 + 94, each percent column to 100.0). Residual doubt is confined to the all-zero cells at the foot of panel A and in panel B's "Unaffiliated unions / Percent" column, where the printed form varies between "0" and ".0" and the faint period cannot always be resolved. Cells transcribed as bare "0" rather than ".0": panel A rows "5,000-9,999" (no-representative percent) and "10,000 and over" (AFL-CIO percent, unaffiliated percent); panel B rows 1-9, 10-19, 40-49, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 100-119, 150-199 and "400 and over" (unaffiliated percent) and row 90-99 (AFL-CIO percent). The distinction does not affect any value. The three "(^1)" cells (panel A rows "3,000-3,999" percent of total, and "5,000-9,999" percent of total and AFL-CIO percent) are the parenthesized superscript reference to footnote 1 standing in place of a number, not numeric values. Panel B's eleventh size class reads "100-119"; the middle digit is damaged in the scan and may be "100-149". Panel A uses the class "100-149", and as printed panel B leaves 120-149 unaccounted for between this row and "150-199", so "100-149" is the likely intent. Transcribed as it appears. Panel B omits a 400-499 class entirely, ending with "400 and over".
