Reader’s notes
p. 168. Ten columns: stub, four under "Number of elections", four under "Number of employees involved (number eligible to vote)", and a tall "Total valid votes cast". Blank cells in the two "Unaffiliated unions" columns and the two "AFL-CIO affiliates" columns are printed as dash rules (------), transcribed as "". The abbreviation for "versus" in the row labels is printed inconsistently in the scan, sometimes "v" and sometimes "v." within the same label; I kept each occurrence as it appears, so the inconsistency is the source's, not a transcription slip. "2-union elections" carries what may be a trailing period or a stray leader dot in the scan; I dropped it. The scanned type renders many lowercase "i" letters without dots (e.g. "affiliation", "unions", "rights"); I spelled these normally. All arithmetic is internally consistent: each row's component columns sum to its row total, and each column's detail rows sum to the printed "Total" row, so no misprints are suspected.
