Reader’s notes

p. 176. Layout: the table is printed as three lettered sections (A, B, C), each laid out as two side-by-side panels that repeat the same two columns. I have transcribed it in the columns of a single panel, giving the column headings once at the top and stacking each section's left-panel rows followed by its right-panel rows. Section-letter lines carry no values. Note that in section C the right panel has its own total line, "Total cases 8 (b) (4)", which therefore appears mid-body after the left panel's three rows. Footnotes: markers 1 and 2 are printed as small raised digits before the figures (e.g. raised 1 before "3, 655" in the Total cases row of section A); I have moved them behind a caret after the value. The footnote texts themselves fall below the bottom edge of the crop — only the upper sliver of a single line is visible (it appears to begin with marker 1 and to concern cases that included allegations of violations of more than one section of the Act, hence totals that are less than the sum of the items), but it is not legible enough to transcribe, so `footnotes` is empty. At least one further footnote (marker 2) is referenced in the body and is not visible at all. Stub heading: the heading cell above the row labels is blank apart from a small stray ink mark; it is transcribed as an empty cell. Arithmetic check (not applied to the cells, which are as printed): all percentages are consistent with the printed counts and section totals, and the section-A and section-B item counts exceed their totals because cases carry multiple allegations.
