Unfair Labor Practice and Representation Cases Received, Closed, and Pending (Complainant or Petitioner Identified), Fiscal Year 1957

Structure: this is one 11-column table (stub + 5 unfair-labor-practice columns + 5 representation columns), not two stacked panels — the left and right halves carry different headings ("Number of unfair labor practice cases / Identification of complainant" vs "Number of representation cases / Identification of petitioner") and share a single stub of row labels, so the two halves are read across the same rows. Section lines: the body is divided by centred in-body section headings that span only one half of the page each ("CA cases 1" over columns 1-5 beside "RC cases 1" over columns 6-10; then CB/RM, CC/RD, and finally CD with no counterpart on the representation side). Because each such line carries two different labels and neither is printed in the stub, I transcribed each section line as a row with an empty stub and the label repeated in every column it spans, the same convention used for spanning column headings. The four blocks of five rows therefore repeat the same five row labels (Pending July 1, 1956 / Received fiscal 1957 / On docket fiscal 1957 / Closed fiscal 1957 / Pending June 30, 1957), once per block. Blank cells: many cells on the representation side hold a dash rule (------) rather than a figure and are transcribed as "" — the whole Employers column under RC, the AFL-CIO/Unaffiliated/Individuals columns under RM, and the AFL-CIO column under RD, plus the Employers cell of RD "Pending July 1, 1956". Note the contrast with RD "Pending June 30, 1957", Employers, which is a printed 0 (not a dash) and is transcribed as 0. The CD block has no representation-side section or data at all, so columns 6-10 are empty for those six rows. Heading hyphenation repaired: "AFL-CIO affili-ates" → "AFL-CIO affiliates" (the printed dash in AFL-CIO is rendered as a plain hyphen), "Unaf-filiated unions", "Indi-vid-uals", "Em-ploy-ers". "Total" is a tall heading spanning the second and third heading levels in each half and is repeated in both. The stub has no printed heading, so cell 0 is empty in all three heading levels. Scan quality: the scan shows the typical worn-type artefacts of this volume (the dot of the "i" is often lost, e.g. "Pendıng", "Receıved", "complaınant", "affilıated", "definıtions"); I have transcribed these as the intended ordinary words. All printed totals were checked against their components and every one agrees (e.g. 907+67+510+1 = 1,485; 6,168+596+10 = 6,774; 1+77+0 = 78), so no misprints are suspected. The caption, running head and page number were omitted as instructed.
