  1. 1 Consent elections are held by an agreement of all parties concerned. Postelection rulings and certifications are made by the regional director.
  2. 2 Stipulated elections are held by an agreement of all parties concerned, but the agreement provides for the Board to determine any objections and/or challenges.
  3. 3 Board-ordered elections are held pursuant to a decision and direction of election by the Board. Postelection rulings on objections and/or challenges are made by the Board.
  4. 4 These elections are held pursuant to direction by the regional director. Postelection rulings on objections and/or challenges are made by the Board.
  5. 5 See table 1, footnote 3, for definitions of types of cases.

Reader’s notes

p. 186. Six columns: stub plus "Total elections" and the four "Type of election" columns. In the "Regional director directed" column the cells for all RC, RM and RD rows hold only a dash/leader rule, transcribed as "". The footnote markers on the section labels are the raised 5 printed immediately after "cases," (e.g. "RC cases,5 total"), recorded as "RC cases,^5 total". In the scan the superscript marker on the "Stipulated" heading and on footnote 2 is degraded and could be misread as a 3, but the heading sequence (1, 2, 3, 4) and the footnote order make it a 2. Footnote 5 reads "Seo table 1. footnote 3" in the scan from broken type; transcribed as the intended "See table 1, footnote 3". All printed row and column totals are internally consistent (every panel's components add to its total), so no misprints detected.
