Reader’s notes

p. 182. 11 columns: stub plus five case-type panels (All C, CA, CB, CC, CD), each with Number of cases and Percent of cases closed. Decimal points: this scan drops many of the faint periods in the percent columns, rendering them as a gap or as a bare digit (e.g. "89 5", "81 5", "1 8", "2 7", "2 1", "3 5", "3 8", "3 1", "2 2", "2 0", "1 3", "100 0", and bare "6", "2", "8", "1"). Every percent column in this table is printed to one decimal place, and each affected value matches its number divided by the panel total (e.g. CA 21/3,841 = 0.5%; CC 3/384 = 0.8%; CA 5/3,841 = 0.1%; CA 30/3,841 = 0.8%), so I have written these with the decimal point restored. No digit was changed or recomputed. Zero percent cells: three CD cells (rows "After issuance of complaint...", "After hearing opened...", "After intermediate report...") and the CB cell in "After Board order adopting intermediate report followed by circuit court decree" show a bare "0" rather than the ".0" used elsewhere in the same columns; I transcribed them as the bare "0" that is visible, so the inconsistency is the image's, not an edit. Footnote markers: in the CD Number column of "Before issuance of complaint" a raised 3 is printed before the value (149^3); in the All C Number column of "After Supreme Court action" a raised 5 is printed before the value (36^5). Headings: the CC panel's first sub-heading is printed "Num ber of cases" (the hyphen in "Num-/ber" did not reproduce); transcribed as "Number of cases" like the other four panels. Arithmetic check (not a correction): each panel's stage rows sum exactly to its printed total — All C 5,619; CA 3,841; CB 1,245; CC 384; CD 149.
