South Dakota's "Employees in units choosing representation" reads 84, which is small relative to its neighbours but is confirmed by the West North Central subtotal of 22,330.

Verification: every regional subtotal row (South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central, Mountain, Pacific, Outlying areas) was checked against the sum of its member States in all 12 numeric columns, and all 72 checks agree exactly. This confirms both the digits and the column assignment throughout. Two cells needed judgment, both resolved by that arithmetic: - South Atlantic, last (12th) column: the group separator in "35.095" prints as a period rather than a comma in the scan. The member States sum to 35,095, so it is transcribed "35,095". - Florida, 8th numeric column: printed "1 030" with a dropped comma; the column sums to 19,792 only with 1,030, so it is transcribed "1,030". In the Delaware row the value 292 (6th numeric column) carries a stray horizontal ink mark from the scan; the digits themselves are clear and the column sum confirms 292. In the footnote the periods in "U. S." and the terminal period after "Commerce" are very faint / broken in the scan; they are rendered as normal punctuation here.
