Reader’s notes
p. 187. 11 columns: stub plus two five-column panels ("Elections in which a representative was redesignated" and "Election resulting in decertification"). The second panel's heading is printed in the singular, "Election resulting in decertification", as transcribed. Periods drop out of this scan. In the "Percent casting valid votes" columns the values print as "91 1", "92 2", "91 6", "86 3" / "90 8", "90 9", "91 6", "85 8" with a blank where the decimal point belongs; they are one-decimal percentages and are transcribed as 91.1, 92.2, 91.6, 86.3, 90.8, 90.9, 91.6, 85.8. Likewise the row labels show as "A F L" and "C I O" with no visible periods; transcribed as the standard "A. F. L." and "C. I. O.". No digits are affected by this. All arithmetic checks pass as printed: in each panel the winning/losing-union and no-union votes sum to total valid votes cast (e.g. Total redesignated 4,383 + 2,427 = 6,810; decertification 1,495 + 3,520 = 5,015), and the three affiliation rows sum to the Total row in every numeric column. No footnote markers and no footnotes appear under the table. The caption "Table 14A.—Voting in Decertification Elections, Fiscal Year 1955" is omitted per instructions.
