Arithmetic check: all 17 data rows sum correctly across their component columns (e.g. for employees, the three \"won by\" columns plus \"no representative\" equal the employee Total), and every one of the 11 numeric columns sums exactly to the printed \"Total\" row. No internal inconsistencies were found, which supports the digit reading throughout. Row label \"A. F. L.-C. I. O.-C. I. O.-unaffiliates\" (4-union elections, third row) is transcribed as printed; \"unaffiliates\" appears to be a misprint for \"unaffiliated\", which is the form used in every other label in the table. Spaced capitals: in both the column headings and the row labels the abbreviations are set as widely letterspaced capitals, and the periods are very faint or do not survive the scan in several places (the headings read close to \"A F L affiliates\" / \"C I O affiliates\", and labels such as \"A F L -A F L -C I O\" show inconsistent period placement). They have been normalized to the dominant printed form \"A. F. L.\" and \"C. I. O.\" throughout; the letters themselves are unambiguous. Blank cells: all empty cells in the body are printed as dash rules (\"------\") and have been rendered as \"\". These are distinct from printed zeros, which are preserved as 0 (notably in the 4-union elections block, where both dash rules and printed zeros occur in the same rows). The caption carries a footnote marker (\"Elections 1\"), but per instructions the caption is omitted; the footnote text itself is retained. The right edge of the crop shows the vertical running head \"Appendix A: Statistical Tables for Fiscal Year 1955\", which is outside the table and omitted. The table is complete; nothing appears cut off.
