Unfair Labor Practice and Representation Cases Received, Closed, and Pending (Complainant or Petitioner Identified), Fiscal Year 1955

p. 175. Structure: 13 columns (stub + 6 unfair-labor-practice columns + 6 representation columns). This is one table, not two side-by-side panels: there is a single stub column of row labels shared by both halves, and the two halves carry different headings ("Identification of complainant" vs "Identification of petitioners"), so each printed row genuinely pairs a ULP case type with a representation case type. Band/section rows: the case-type labels (CA cases / RC cases, CB / RM, CC / RD, CD) are printed as centered band headings spanning the data columns rather than sitting in the stub. I transcribed each as a value-less section row with the label repeated in every column it spans and the stub left empty; the fourth band has "CD cases^1" over the ULP columns only, with the representation columns blank (the right half has no fourth band). Arithmetic check (not a correction, just verification of column placement): in all 24 cases the component columns sum exactly to the printed Total, and within each band Pending July 1 + Received = On docket and On docket - Closed = Pending June 30. No printed total appears to be in error. Cell-level remarks: - CA band, "Closed July 1, 1954-June 30, 1955", ULP Total: printed as "4 449" with a space and no comma; transcribed "4,449" per the digit-grouping rule. The sum of its components confirms 4,449. - ULP "Employers" column, CA band, rows Received / On docket / Closed: a raised 2 is printed immediately before 102; transcribed as "102^2". - Right half, last column heading: it reads "Em-ployees" to me, i.e. "Employees", and it differs from the left half's "Em-ployers". Note that the values in that column belong to the RM band, where the petitioner is the employer, so "Employers" would be the semantically expected word; I transcribed what I read. Worth a second look at this heading. - Column headings 2, 3, 8 and 9 are set with letter-spacing and possible periods ("A F L", "C. I. O"); normalized to "AFL affiliates" and "CIO affiliates". - Cells rendered as a row of dash rules (ULP Employers in the CA band; the four Identification columns in the RM band; the representation Employees column in the CA and RD bands) are given as "". In the RD band, "Pending July 1, 1954" has no dash rule in the last column, just blank space; also "". - RC band "Individuals" column: specks of dirt sit just left of the 9 (Closed) and the 2 (Pending June 30). I read them as stray marks, not footnote markers or digits; 1 + 10 = 11 and 11 - 9 = 2 support the plain readings. - The scan is a 1-bit halftone with broken serifs (e.g. dotless "i" in "Pending"/"received"), but no digit was ambiguous after the sum checks.
