p. 174. Seven columns: stub plus Total, A. F. L. affiliates, C. I. O affiliates, Unaffiliated unions, Individuals, Employers. The stub column carries no printed heading, so cell 0 of each header level is empty. "Total" and the stub are tall/blank across heading levels; "Number of cases" spans all six data columns and "Identification of complainant or petitioner" spans the last five. All four sections are arithmetically consistent as transcribed: in every one of the 20 data rows the five identification columns sum exactly to the printed Total, and in each section Pending July 1 + Received = On docket and On docket - Closed = Pending June 30. No misprints detected. Cell-level observations: - "All cases" section head carries a raised 1 footnote marker; the Unfair labor practice "Pending July 1, 1954" Total carries a raised 2 printed to the LEFT of the value ("2 2,672"), transcribed as 2,672^2. - The All cases "Received July 1, 1954-June 30, 1955" Total prints as "13, 391 ." with a stray mark after the figure; this is a leader-dot/typesetting artifact, and the value is 13,391. - Coincidental repeats that are genuinely as printed, not duplication errors: in Unfair labor practice cases, Received Total and Closed Total are both 6,171, and Pending July 1 Total and Pending June 30 Total are both 2,672. Both pairs check out against their own column sums. - In Union-shop deauthorization cases the Employers column is a dash rule ("------") in all five rows, transcribed as "". - In that same section, Pending June 30, 1955 shows 0 under A. F. L. affiliates and 1 under C. I. O affiliates; this is faint but confirmed by the row sum (0+1+0+3 = 4) and the C. I. O column balance (0 pending + 1 received - 0 closed = 1). Footnote 1 is a long multi-line block of case-type definitions; it is given whole as a single string with its internal line breaks joined. Scan noise leaves a few characters ambiguous within it, rendered here as the obvious intended text: "labor organization" (prints with transposed letters), "section 9 (c) (1) (A) (i)" (opening paren degraded), and "section 8 (b) (4)" in the CC line. The lead-in punctuation after the case codes is inconsistent in the original - CA, CB, RD read as colons, CD and UD as periods, CC has none, and RC/RM print as a raised dot that is almost certainly a colon; colons are used for RC and RM here. The caption, running head and page number are excluded. Nothing appears cut off by the crop.
