p. 178. Suspected misprint: in row "A. F. L.-C. I. O.-unaffiliated" (3-union elections section), the "Number of employees involved — Total" cell is printed with a period rather than a digit-grouping comma, as "19.236"; transcribed as printed. Its own components (553 + 5,809 + 12,745 + 129) sum to 19,236, so the intended figure is clearly 19,236. Section label: "3-union elections" is the only section line printed with a trailing colon ("3-union elections:"); the 1-, 2- and 4-union section lines have no terminal punctuation. Transcribed as printed. Heading hyphenation: the ninth column (employees, unaffiliated unions) is set over two lines and the break reads "Unaffilia-" / "ated unions", which would join to a nonsense word; it is transcribed as "Unaffiliated unions", matching the corresponding elections-panel heading, which breaks cleanly as "Unaffili-" / "ated unions". In the elections panel the third column heading appears to lack the final period ("C. I. O affiliates") while the employees panel has it ("C. I. O. affiliates"); both are transcribed as they appear. Row labels: the terminal period of abbreviations such as "A. F. L." and "C. I. O." runs into the leader dots, so trailing periods in those labels are inferred from the table's consistent usage rather than read cell by cell. Cells shown as dash rules (no applicable value) are transcribed as empty; printed zeros are kept as 0. There is a small stray ink mark just right of "4,663" in the Total row and left of "675" in the last-but-two row; neither is a footnote marker or digit. Verification: every data row's component columns sum to its printed row total, and every column's data rows sum to the printed "Total" row, in both the elections and the employees panels. Faint rotated text at the right edge of the crop is the page's running head, not table content.
