Reader’s notes

p. 176. Six columns: stub, "Total elections", and four columns under the spanning heading "Type of election". The scan's dotted i's are frequently lost (the page reads "Eligible", "Stipulated", "rulings", "regional" with broken dots); labels and footnotes are transcribed with normal spelling. In the four "cases" blocks for RC, RM and RD, the last column (Regional director directed) is filled with a dash rule in every cell; those are transcribed as "". The footnote-5 marker sits after the comma in "RC cases,5 total", "RM cases,5 total" and "UD cases,5 total", but before the comma in "RD cases5, total"; each is placed as printed. Two stray marks are ink specks, not data, and are omitted: a period-sized dot left of 281 in the "Eligible voters, total" row under Regional director directed, and a short dash under "Total elections" in the heading box. Footnote 2 ends without a period, as printed. All printed totals are internally consistent: each block's four type-of-election figures sum to its Total elections value, and the RC+RM+RD+UD blocks sum to the three "total" rows at the top.
