30 of 30 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.
p. 317. Six printed columns: stub "Fiscal year", a tall single "Total polls" heading repeated across both header levels, and four columns under the spanner "Type of poll". No footnotes are printed under the table. All cells are legible and the arithmetic is internally consistent, which supports the digit readings: each year's four type-of-poll figures sum to its "Total polls" (e.g. 17,177+69+711+1 = 17,958), the four type columns sum to 46,146 in the "Total" row, and the five fiscal-year rows sum to 46,146 in every column. The date ranges in the 1948 and 1952 row labels are printed with en-dashes ("1947–June", "1951–Oct."); they are transcribed here with plain hyphens. A stray ink mark sits above the "Board ordered" column between the Total row and the double rule, and another below the "1952" row label; both are page speckle, not digits or footnote markers. A short tick mark appears in the upper-left heading cell above "Fiscal year" — also stray ink, with no accompanying footnote text.
